Casa La Cañada

The beach villa in Acapulco, La Cañada, is a 4 acres property. The house was comissioned by the Yturbe family and built in 1945 by architect Enrique del Moral. It was later owned by Hollywood star Dolores del Rio. It is very near the Yatch club, market, La Quebrada divers and the downtown area. Featured as one of the modern architecture landmarks in the country in magazines: Wallpaper (UK), Purple (France) and Celeste (Mex) as well as many publications and books.

The house is conveniently located 10 min. away from the Yatch club, crafts market, Fuerte de San Diego Museum, the divers at La Quebrada and the costera avenue. It is on the old acapulco area, where Jonny Weissmuller (Tarzan) had his famous Los Flamingos hotel, and Elvis Presley shot his films at the legendary Hotel Boca Chica nearby.

The house is on the way to Pie de la Cuesta, which is only 15 min away. This beach is known for artists, european tourists and bohemians gathering on a pintoresque folkroric beach with small boutique hotels such as Hotel Vayma where you can go to the restaurant and use the beach. It is next to the Laguna de Coyuca where water sports such as water skying are available.
